WARNING: Faint of heart, you have been warned!!
I can't believe that it's only 10 days til Christmas.
I haven't started shopping...yet.
I'm hoping to get it done before Christmas Eve, though, but right now, that isn't looking very promising. We have our tree up and decorated, which is quite a story in itself...
Last week, my husband decided we needed to put the tree up, so we did. We keep our pre-lit tree, and all of our snowmen ornaments and decorations in a little storage space that is underneath the upstairs laundry room. This "closet" is bricked on the outside of our house, but the inside (since it is only storage space) is only cement blocks. Well, as my oldest son was carrying the ornaments into the living room from this "closet," a snake skin fell from the top of the rubbermaid tub he was carrying. YES! The skin off of a snake. Which means...there has, at some point since last Christmas, been a snake...in my house...where I live...where my kids live and sleep. DO YOU KNOW HOW THAT MAKES ME FEEL???
I'm thinking about moving out.
BUT - the good news is this: We found a small hole that a snake could have very easily fit through, it has since been plugged up, and there is no snake anywhere around here.
Unless, of course, he's hibernating through the winter, only to rear his ugly head in the spring.
Or what if he was really a SHE? And she has babies? And they are ALL hibernating...
oh my. I've thought a million different things the last few days. When I make down my bed at night, could there be a snake in it, under the covers, trying to keep warm? Or what if he (or she) is in the toilet if I have to get up in the middle of the night and I don't turn the light on before I sit to pee? Or what if it is in my closet, and I just can't see it? Or under my bed?
Funny how your mind can make you think of all kinds of silly things when you're a little scared, huh?
It is silly, right? I mean really...there's no snake in my house for goodness sakes.
Right?!
PS - If I haven't posted in a few days, please, somebody, call the (ex)Terminator. I really don't like snakes. Or frogs, while we're on the subject...

yeah, that would kind of freak me out too. But if you haven't seen the snake in the whole year since you put the decorations out, chances are pretty good you won't.
